FOOD

The ministry's main purpose is to provide food to those in need. The amount of food provided depends upon the number in the family and the amount of food we have available on hand. Our goal is to provide food for approximately five days or longer. Each client may return, if necessary, in 90 days for more food assistance.
First-time clients should visit the Anson County Department of Social Services (DSS) or the Anson County Health Department (ACHD) to receive a food voucher. Each visit afterward, clients are able to come directly to the ACM. We require the following documents for food assistance:
Social Security cards for everyone in the household
Proof of all income
Proof of residency in Anson County
Frequently during the year, the Charlotte Gleaners deliver fresh fruit and vegetables to the Anson Crisis Ministry. We, in turn, share these items with all other agencies within the county. Items usually are yellow squash, sweet potatoes, zucchini squash, etc.

CLOTHING

The public is welcome to shop at the Crisis Ministry. All proceeds from sales are used to purchase food at the Metrolina Food Bank in Charlotte and to assist with other costs. The clothes have been priced at exceptionally low prices to accommodate our clients and their needs.
Grandmothers who are raising children, domestic violence victims, inmates, homeless and fire victims receive free clothing. Clients on low income may also request a clothing voucher each time they visit.
